The Allen School Medical Assistant and Nursing Assistant Internship Information

All Medical Assistants are required to perform internship duties prior to graduation and upon successful completion of the in-school portion of their training. There is no cost whatsoever to the internship site for this service as it gives the student a chance to perform "on-the-job" and a chance for the site to utilize the services of a student without remuneration. Students will act as interns for a period of eleven weeks at the rate of 25 hours per week. Many employers decide to hire the student at that point based upon first hand performance knowledge. Several sites currently utilize multiple interns. If you are interested in participating in the Allen School internship program at no cost to you, click here.

All Nursing Assistants are required to attend a supervised clinical experience in a long-term health care facility. These students attend this internship for a total of 30 hours. The institution has agreements with major long-term health care facilities to train groups of students upon successful completion of the in-school portion of their program.
