The Medical Assistant Training Program at The Allen School of Health Sciences provides a curriculum that includes theory and skills in many areas. Medical Assistants work under the direct supervision of a physician or other licensed healthcare provider. Medical Assistants are typically employed in medical offices, urgent care clinics, outpatient surgery centers, and medical specialties such as pediatrics, internal medicine, urology, dermatology, and cardiology.

This hybrid training program is offered at both our Brooklyn and Jamaica/Queens NY campuses, as well as our Phoenix AZ campus. Hybrid training program combining online interactive learning with hands on learning in a clinical classroom.

About The Medical Assistant Training Program

The Medical Assistant Program at The Allen School of Health Sciences provides a curriculum that includes theory and skills in many areas including:

  • Take vitals and prep patients

  • Phlebotomy, draw blood and run labs

  • Perform EKG and monitor heart

  • Medical laboratory techniques (urinalysis and blood chemistry)

  • Patient safety, medical emergencies & first aid

  • Anatomy & physiology curriculum

  • Clinical office procedures. assisting at examinations and treatment

  • Professional office practices

  • Understand medical ethics and law

  • Healthcare and insurance basics

  • Computer skills, basic billing, and coding

  • Internship opportunities
