The Allen School is (to me):

The Allen School has become my new “home” where I can continue to realize my passion each day, helping students enter into the health care field.

My academic/medical interests are:

I love to teach medical terminology and clinical skills to the medical assistants.  I believe these are the core of their occupation.

Some of the jobs I have had in my lifetime include:

Clinical Medical Assistant, Cardiopulmonary Technologist, Dean of Education, Director of Academic Affairs, and if you really want to know I was a fill in bartender for my husband’s restaurants and clubs.

The best thing about being an instructor is:

I think my best thing about being an instructor is to find things that excite the students and when they tell me that “Learning is Fun”.  Then I know I am capturing their attention and making the information meaningful for them.

When I am not in the classroom or on campus I can be found:

At my computer developing my next textbook.

Movies I can watch over and over:

Gone with the Wind, and any musical “oldie” with dancing; preferably black and white with Astaire and Rogers.

Favorite TV shows:

Ghost Adventures and anything on the Discovery Channel

Websites I visit daily:

Linked-In and You Tube

Favorite area restaurants:

Elephant Bar and Valle Luna Mexican

Coolest things I have ever done:

Swimming with the dolphins in the Bahamas; touring the Smithsonian Museums in Washington, DC; visiting the Denver Zoo when Klondike and Snow were in the newborn nursery (twin polar bears).

Places I have lived:

Dairy farm in Little Meadows, Pennsylvania the first 13 years of my life and Phoenix, Arizona to present
